Why we exist

The short version.

Most of what goes wrong on an outsourced software project is not technical. It is a scope nobody wrote down, a repository the client cannot access, a status report that says ninety per cent complete for three months, and an engineer who leaves taking the only working knowledge of the system with them.

We started Rakkay to build the way we always wanted to work: small team, senior people on the actual code, everything written down, and a client who can see the running application every week instead of a slide about it.

We are deliberately narrow. React on the web, React Native on mobile, and the Node, Express or Laravel backends behind them. We would rather be the right answer to a specific problem than a vague answer to every problem.

None of that is unusual to say. What is unusual is being held to it, which is why the commitments on how we work are written as processes we control rather than outcomes we hope for.

What we will turn down.

The fastest way to tell whether a supplier is being straight with you is to ask what they say no to. Here is ours, in writing, before you have spent an hour on a call finding out.

  • We do not take work we cannot staff senior

    If a project needs more engineers than we can put senior review behind, we say so rather than hiring against a signed contract and learning on your budget.

  • We do not pitch technology we have not shipped

    There is no AI page on this site, because we have not delivered that work for a client. When we have, it will appear here and not before.

  • We do not run a sales process

    Nobody here is paid to close you. The person who answers your first email is the person who would set the architecture on your project.

Where we are

Far away, but not out of hours.

We work from Madurai, in Tamil Nadu. That puts a full working day alongside the Middle East and most of Asia, and a wide overlap with Europe. The Americas need one side to shift hours — we will tell you which before you commit to anything.
